Hello, if you don't already know by now, as millions surely already do, my name is Marjorie. People know me as a bead jewelry designer with an obsessive penchant for gemstones, pearls, more gemstones, more pearls, even more gemstones and even more pearls, and, of course, all the other stuff, like chain, wire, sterling silver, and you know what else, I don't have to tell you. And if you have heard that I spend more time on the internet than God, well, you might be right. I am always on the lookout for the next great thing in jewelry. It could be yours. (Actually, it should be mine, but you know me....) I hang out at Land of Odds (, and you can reach me there anytime. Point my nose in the right direction -- jewelry on-line that people will want to talk about. And, darling, you better believe this is my real nose. The jewelry ain't fake either. Let me take your hand, and guide your eye to see the treasures I have found ....

Leslie Lawton
Jewelry Design

Leslie has a “Buy it, try it and return it” policy. I don’t think so, even though Leslie Lawton offers the buy, try and return program who would dare send back one of her gorgeous pieces of designer jewelry. Lawton shows up with a passion creating her one of a kind, Edwardian and Victorian inspired impeccable designs. Go ahead I dare you to buy a piece of Lawton’s jewelry and just let it inspire you.

Exceptional. Designer Leslie Lawton creates limited edition jewelry for discerning women. These one-of-a-kind women have as much substance as they do style. They want to express their individuality by wearing designer necklaces, eclectic earrings and eye-catching bracelets.

Art to wear and wear and wear. While Leslie enjoys putting her own gentle spin on fashion, her designer jewelry appeals to the woman who wants to make an authentic personal statement. The art of this jewelry comes from an organic palette and materials that produce a rich, refined texture. The idea is to create collectible jewelry pieces that will delight the eye for years to come.

Beautifully-crafted. Construction is seamless and invisible. Each original jewelry design features gemstone beads, vintage, ethnic or antique stones and metals, natural and freshwater pearls, and elegant touches of sterling or vermeil.

Unique, handcrafted, designer jewelry.

The Art of Showing Up. TM

As it turns out, Leslie spent much of her adult life as an advertising copywriter, working for ad agencies and companies all over the country. While it was a wild, creative ride at times, her work required a focus on linear thinking and staying in tune with business goals. All of which, somehow led her into another life transition, and this one’s major.

Over the last five years, Leslie has decided to explore the pleasures of creating visual beauty and the art of adornment, working with her hands and heart, even more than with her head.

“The difference between writing advertising and designing jewelry is the difference between expression with a business agenda and pure artistic expression. I’ve been very blessed to be able to make the transition. ”

Of course, having a business background has come in very handy, in building her jewelry business, which, she says, is quite a business challenge.

A labor of love. I weave vintage materials, patterned stones and unusual gems into my designs, along with motifs, shapes and stones that have long been treasured for their cultural significance and metaphysical energies. The infinite variety of these materials and combinations sparks my creative fire and makes the work endlessly fascinating.

The work has a romantic, vintage feel, with an emphasis on organic color and rich texture. I incorporate natural and freshwater pearls, semi-precious gems and beads, and cabochons cut from patterned stones. You’ll find vintage materials, such as buttons from the Victorian era, in most pieces. I also blend ethnic and antique stones and metals from other times and places into my work.
