marjoriemillerby Marjorie Miller

Hello, if you don't already know by now, as millions surely already do, my name is Marjorie. People know me as a bead jewelry designer with an obsessive penchant for gemstones, pearls, more gemstones, more pearls, even more gemstones and even more pearls, and, of course, all the other stuff, like chain, wire, sterling silver, and you know what else, I don't have to tell you. And if you have heard that I spend more time on the internet than God, well, you might be right. I am always on the lookout for the next great thing in jewelry. It could be yours. (Actually, it should be mine, but you know me....) I hang out at Land of Odds (, and you can reach me there anytime. Point my nose in the right direction -- jewelry on-line that people will want to talk about. And, darling, you better believe this is my real nose. The jewelry ain't fake either. Let me take your hand, and guide your eye to see the treasures I have found ....

Antwerp, Belgium

Wouter & Hendrix in Antwerp, Belgium, jewelry website is so fresh, fun, humorous, and has exquisite gemstone jewelry to boot.

Katrin Wouters and Karen Hendrix both graduated from the famous Royal Academy of Fine Arts in their native Belgium with degrees in goldsmithing.

They started designing jewelry together 23 years ago as best friends and are now an established part of Antwerp’s fashion scene. Along the way, their mix of refinement and adventure became more sophisticated and so did the materials of their craft, from copper to sterling silver and semi-precious stones such as onyx, smoky quartz, moonstone, citrine, jade, chrysoprase, and mother of pearl. 2007 marks a cherished dream for Katrin and Karen with the launch of the W & H GOLD collection.

Their hammered collection was successfully launched to the world in 1985. Since then, no less than 42 collections have followed, bearing the names like The Clandestine Collection, Healing jewelry, La fete de betes, Lovely Lucy, and Carnival of emotions.

W & H seek out the shapes which best display the characteristics of the semi-precious stones to their advantage with drops, flowers, rectangles, etc.. They have two collections per year, but their “my favourite” line, mainly timeless sterling silver pieces is permanently for sale. The exquisite handwork and couture finish of W & H jewelry has earned them international renown with clients such as Baycrew’s, HP France, Joyce, Colette, Liberty, Harvey Nichols, Selfridges…

Humor is an endless inspiration in their work resulting in daring and eclectic pieces. Check out “A day at the W&H shop” a 4 minute film in the stores section of W & H’s website is one of my favorites for fun and beautiful jewelry. They brighten a blah gray day.
